These ponies live in bands on Asseteague Island, abandoned over 300 years ago from ships. They have adapted very well, rolling and frollicking in the sand and Atlantic waves together. Deemed wildlife, but, used to visitors to the island, one brushed up against me; rubbing off a surprised bee. It was great fun swimming with family- ponies grazing and looking on.
